MISSION AND CORE PURPOSE: To Improve the Lives of Women and Girls locally and around the World

Soroptimist is an international organization for business and professional women working to help other women be their best.

Soroptimist International of Santa Rosa is one of 58 local clubs in Founder Region which includes Marin, Sonoma, Napa, and parts of Mendocino, Lake, Solano, Humboldt, Del Norte, and Contra Costa counties as well as Hawaii, Guam and the Marianas.

Founder Region belongs to the Soroptimist International of the Americas (SIA) one of 4 Federations around the world. SIA has more than 1,400 clubs in 19 countries and territories. (Click here for a map of SIA regions)

Each local club establishes its own scholarships and service projects based on the needs of the community, as well as participating in scholarships at the Region and Federation level. (Click here to read about some of our current projects)

Club officer positions and committee chairs offer members an opportunity to improve leadership skills and play a major role in service projects and programs which benefit our Santa Rosa community.

Members are encouraged to participate on a Region Committees and run for officer positions at the Region level. Club members have held the position Founder Region Governor, SIA Federation Treasurer, and one member who has been both Federation and International President. Club members network at District Meetings, Region Conference and Federation Conventions.

Members attend 3 luncheon meeting each month, including 1 business and 2 program meetings. Each member should serve on at least two club committees. Committee meetings are held in addition to the business and program meetings on an as needed basis.

The Fundraising committee and the Service/Scholarship committee are the heart of the club. They are also the most visible to the community, so all members are encouraged to participate in community service projects and fundraising events.

Members have a fiscal responsibility to pay on a timely basis any annual dues, luncheon fees, and any registration fees for District meetings, Region conferences, and Federation conventions.

Above all, members should have fun and make new friends! To learn more call Kris at 707-545-6089 or e-mail sisrclub@sonic.net
